St. Patrick's Band welcome the good weather in Summer during COVID-19 and return to outdoor rehearsals and recitals

Forced to abandon all practice and recitals because of COVID-19 restrictions, the band were delighted to use the good weather in Summer 2021 to resume playing together outdoors. The band met in any open spaces available for practice, starting with the Woodquay pitch, Galway.

Though the band were delighted to resume activities, they were still often frustrated by rain and stricter lockdown measure periods restricting the amount of people that could gather together outdoors. Some of this frustration was eased when the band was given permission from Supervalu, Claregalway to use their underground carpark for practice, giving the band a facility to rehearse without the threat of rain.

During that Summer, the band used these opportunities to perform as many recitals as possible. They played at all the following venues, the communities at each always expressing warm sentiment and appreciation for a break from the mundane.
