St. Patrick's Band turn out for parade despite little interest

Apart from special Church service and the appearance of St. Patrick's Brass Band in the forenoon, there was nothing to distinguish St. Patrick's Day, 1953 from any other Tuesday of the year. Were it not for the attraction of Rugby fixtures at the Sportsground, Galwegians could have retired to bed for the day and missed nothing.
