St. Patrick's Band return to Lorient, France with brand new uniform
The band returned to long-time collaborators Scorff band, Lorient, France in 2003 and were delighted to present their brand new uniform and colours. As always, it proved to be a great success and a memorable occasion for members of both bands.
Though the band took great pride in wearing the maroon and white representing the Galway colours, the upkeep of the uniform proved to be troublesome at best (particularly the white slacks on rainy days).
For this reason, (for the most part) the band enthusiastically welcomed the change in uniform to dark green jacket and black slacks, seeing the practical value as well the sense in changing the colours to be more representative of the patron Saint after which the band was named.
