St. Patrick's Band finally take residence in new Built-for-Purpose Bandroom
A handsome and new Bandroom was opened in 1989 by the Mayor of Galway Clr. Angela Lupton with blessings from Bishop Eamonn Casey and Rev. Leslie Forrest.
It was a major addition to the community musical scene and quickly became a Cultural Centre in the Heart of Galway. Organisations such as the Galway Baroque Singers, the Galway Choral Association and other cultural groups availed of the new facilities. The band itself was able to expand its musical education programme with the provision of new music classrooms in the premises. An acoustic was added to enhance the sound in the Bandroom.
